The general cemetery of Wijk bij Duurstede

Wijk bij Duurstede cemetery

Right next to the Catholic cemetery of Wijk bij Duurstede is the general cemetery, for the rest of the population. I'm not sure how old it is, the oldest graves seem to be from the 1920s. At the back is a separate section with old Jewish graves, some of them from the 19th century - I'll keep those for a future post. I'll also highlight a few individual graves in future posts, among those are the graves of British soldiers who were killed here during the second world war. For now, enjoy the photo impression of this cemetery.
